Additional Information about the Event, Route and General Guidelines
These are preliminary guidelines and will be updated closer to the event.
Prices
Until August 16: €30 for all distances, after that until September 19: €40

Start and Finish Area
All distances start from Raatihuone Square.
Note: Due to timing activation, the starting line must not be crossed before the starting signal from either direction. You cannot approach the start area from the front under the start gate.
Route
The event route offers a stunning showcase of Kajaani’s most beautiful landscapes and attractions. Along the loop that follows the Kajaaninjoki River, you’ll encounter Kajaani’s castle ruins and magnificent river scenery. The route runs approximately half on hard gravel surface and half on asphalt cycling paths.

The event area is located at: Raatihuone Square, Kauppakatu 32, 87100 Kajaani

Parking is available at Kajaani Central School parking area and the city’s public parking spaces.
Route Markings
The route is marked with signposts and ribbon markers. Additionally, marshals will be present at major intersections.
Bib Number Collection
Bib numbers will be distributed on event day, September 19, starting at 9:00 from the information point at Raatihuone Square.
Remember to collect your number in good time to avoid queues.
You will receive a bib number, safety pins for attachment, and a bag for storing belongings/clothing.
The bib number does not need to be collected personally. Someone else can collect the bib number on your behalf.
Bib Number Attachment
The bib number should be attached to the front of your shirt in a way that is easily readable. The number label must not be crumpled or folded. Advertisements on the number must not be covered or removed.
The bib number is personal – it can only be transferred to another person by notifying the organizers. Only those with a bib number are entitled to organizer support services. The number label does not need to be returned at the finish line.
Equipment Storage
Equipment storage at Restaurant Terva at the edge of Raatihuone Square. You can also leave valuables in your bag. When collecting your bag, the staff member will verify that the bag number matches the bag collector’s bib number.
Changing and Shower Facilities

Personal Drinks
Half and full marathoners have a reserved table at aid stations for their personal drinks. Participants must deliver their personal drinks to the information point at Raatihuone Square on September 19, one hour before the start.
Aid Stations
Aid stations provide water and sports drinks for all event participants.
There are two aid stations on the route.
Registration
Registration is possible on the event website until the event.
Cancellation of Registration
Paid participation fees are not refunded.
Withdrawal
If you need to withdraw, go to the nearest aid station. Tell the aid station staff if you need a ride to the finish area. Report your withdrawal at the information point at Raatihuone Square. This ensures we can verify that runners are no longer on the route.
Stop running if you experience any of the following symptoms:
- Increasing chest pain
- Severe shortness of breath
- Dizziness or vertigo
- Severe foot pain
- Any other alarming symptom
Accept that the organizers have the right to stop your run if we notice signs indicating an emergency situation (e.g., unusual paleness).
Responsibly assess whether the running event is suitable for you based on your health condition.
Do not participate if you feel an illness coming on (e.g., flu) or know that you have not recovered sufficiently after a previous illness.
You participate in the run at your own responsibility and release the event organizers from liability to the extent that you have not considered factors that pose a risk to your participation.
Maximum Run Time & Cleanup
The maximum completion time is 6 hours for the marathon and 4 hours for the half marathon.
At 17:00, aid station operations and traffic guidance end, and route markings are removed. After 17:00, the rear marshal checks the route to ensure no more participants are present.
